I first want to extend a warm welcome and thank you to everyone who has joined my brand-new newsletter. I’m quite new to the concept, so I am learning more and more every month.

I want to use this newsletter as a way to update people on current projects, future releases, news happening in my life, as well as sneak peaks into future projects and my thought process going into them and potential freebies that I won’t be able to post in other places due to everything going at the moment with itch.io and payment processors.

My main writing project at the moment is a sci-fi erotica story called Entangled. It’s planned to be around 10k-15k words long but I’ll see how much I end up with by the end. I’m still in the first draft process of it. I am also planning to release a small artbook that will accompany this story and it will be sent as a freebie to everyone that subscribes to my newsletter. What is the story about, you may ask?

Two alien researchers, Doctor Exodus and Doctor Faer, are tasked with exploring a uncatalogued planet in a far away galaxy. They didn't expect to find sapient life, especially not someone like Verbena who crashed and emergency crashed on this uninhabited planet and assumed he will spend the rest of his life stranded there. But not even this humanitarian aid mission can distract the two from their research, both the one academy approved and their own personal one.

When and Where to Expect my Books to be Published

Initially, I was planning on publishing “Entangled” solely on itch and Amazon. Due to the new changes in itch’s policies (caused by the whole thing happening with payment processors) that may not be the case. I am currently looking into publishing through Draft2Digital to multiple storefronts, mainly SmashWords and Amazon.

The publishing was supposed to happened at the end of August, but that deadline may change due to me having to adapt to all these changes. Best way to keep updated about that is by following me on BlueSky.

How to Support Me Through These Questionable Times

The easiest way to show your support is by sharing my posts around and getting people interested in my art and stories.

For those of you who can, I’m working on setting up a better tier system on Patreon - by the time this newsletter is out, this reworking should be complete, so check out my Patreon here.

So far, the tier I would recommend the most is the $3 one that give you access to a monthly digital zine with a lot of unpublished art, writing, photography, collage, as well as ramblings on various topics. You also don’t have to worry about subscribing too late, as you’ll also have access to past zines, all of which will be compiled in a special collection on my Patreon page.

Here’s the cover on July’s edition →

The zine is themed around disability pride

Additionally, I have a tip jar on Patreon where you can just pay $1 to allow me to slowly focus more on my writing and art projects and less on real life related issues.

Another new tier I’m working on for patreon is a $20 one where you get one art commission slot from me per month. You cannot stack them and there is limited quantity of them. This is my way to show my greatest appreciation to people who can afford to support me to that length. Additionally, this tier will have access to anything else I will be adding to cheaper tiers (like the monthly digital zine)

I also have a kofi where I offer art commissions, but I am experiencing some problems connecting PayPal to it so that is on hold till I figure out a solution.

Wrap-up of July’s Artfight

For those unaware, during July there’s an online event called Artfight where people pick a team and do attacks (aka drawings) for other people on the same or the other team. I’ve been meaning to participate in this event for years, but only this year I had some time to actually do it. I didn’t get to draw much, but I’m nonetheless proud of what I managed to accomplish!

I even got one attack back of one of the characters from Entangled! This art was done by https://artfight.net/~yuzuk1makata

Indie Book Rec Of The Month

The indie book I want to recommend to absolutely everyone this month is actually two books, not just one. It’s the duology Still Water/Afterbirth by H.S. Wolfe. I can’t properly put into works how much I love these two short stories. I would honestly recommend anything and everything by this author. They are one of the reasons I’ve started considering self-publishing - something that has been a dream of mine but always felt unachievable.

Thank you so much for sticking around and see you next month! <3
